Highchair

Well, here's the finished product. Elise absolutely loves it! She can sit up to the table! We still need to attach a strap so she can't fall through the front.

New High Chair for Elise

We decided to make a new high chair for Elise. Like I said I really Ana White's site. We got the plans from here. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the one Eric and I made.

We planned to paint it blue to match our kitchen. That way it can be used for other children not matter what their gender in the future. No, there are no children on the way. I'll post pictures of the finished product soon.

I actually helped make this one and plan to do most of the work for our next project.

You can find it here. Then it will be on to projects for mom!

More pictures and projects to come soon.

The Beginning

I have decided to start a craft blog. It will be mostly sewing, but I'll include other crafty things as well. For this first blog, I'll tell you a little about myself and show you a few products that I've made recently.

My name is April. I am a 27 year old stay at home mom. I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I have a wonderful husband whom I've been married to for 3 1/2 years. We have a beautiful daughter who is almost 20 months.

I love all things crafty. I've been sewing for 10 years. I love scrap booking and I have recently gained an appreciation for wood working.

I recently taught my sister how to sew and read a pattern. We chose the Schoolhouse Tunic from Sew Liberated

The pattern was probably the most well written pattern I've ever read. It is extremely detailed. I shortened the sleeves as well as the overall length because, well I'm only 4'11". The only other thing that I did differently was the pattern said to do a gathering stitch, but my sewing machine gathered it too much, so I undid the gather.

Here is a picture of mine.

Here is a picture of my sisters! She did awesome and I'm so proud of her. I think it looks better then mine!

Overall, it was a great pattern and I would definately recommend it. I plan to try more patterns from Sew Liberated. You should too!

I've owned my Cricut for several years now and I really enjoy it. Mine is a refurbished one from Wild Ivy Memories. I recently purchased vinyl. Wall art is perfect for when you are renting a home. Decorating without putting holes in the walls! Here is one of my recent decals!

Ana White is wonderful! She designs furniture plans and posts them on her site for anyone to use for free. My husband recently made this:

I painted it and added the vinyl decals. I have a whole list of things that I want to make. My husband is going to show me the ropes and I'll post pictures as I learn. I very excited!

Stay tuned for more to come from Naptime Threads.
